The sayings of Chazal regarding reciting the paragraphs of the Torah which discuss the offerings in the temple are well-known, and they said that this recital is very important before Hashem, and that those people who recite these paragraphs are considered as having had the holy temple built in their days, and as if they have offered up all of the offerings. Similarly, in the holy Zohar they elaborate at length about the praise which is deserving to one who studies the order of the offering of the sacrifices and the order of the mixing of the holy incense.
However, it would appear that one who recites these things without the correct concentration will not reach the lofty elevated levels mentioned in the holy Zohar. It follows that it is correct and fitting to strengthen oneself to study the order of the offerings and the mixing of the holy incense with the correct concentration to give pleasure to our Creator who gives good reward to those who fulfil His will.
When it comes to a man who has been favored by Hashem to be amongst those who sit in the study-hall, how good and pleasant it would be that he should fix times to learn in the Talmud and Rambam the laws of the bringing of the offerings, as this gives greater pleasure to his Creator than other studies. About things such as this it says “Fortunate is he whose toil is in Torah and who makes pleasure for his Creator!”.
