Categories of Muktzeh
Laws specifically relating to muktzeh on Yom Tov are explained in Chapter 21.
KELI SHE MELACHTO LE-ISSUR
13.a. 1) An object whose primary use is obviously for performing an activity that is forbidden on Shabbath is considered to be a keli she-melachto le-issur, even if it has never been used for that purpose.
2) Examples of such objects are pens, hammers and matchsticks
13.b. 1) An object which is not recognizable as being designated for use in a forbidden activity is not considered to be a keli she-melachto le-issur, even if it has been set aside for that purpose, until it has actually been used in the performance of such an activity.
2) Examples of such objects are
a) a liqueur bottle which one has decided to use as the base of a table-lamp and
b) a jar which one has decided to use as a children’s piggy bank.
