Chapter 23

Housekeeping and Use of Domestic Facilities on Shabbath and Yom Tov.

 

CENTRAL HEATING

31.a. A pot containing warm food, wrapped on all sides in a cloth, may not be placed on top of a radiator, even before the beginning of Shabbath. (See Chapter 1, paragraphs 65 and 66.)
31.b. If, however, the pot is not covered on all sides, one may put it near or on top of a radiator, even on Shabbath, so long as it is in a position where its temperature will not reach 45 degrees centigrade.
