Specific laws relating to the transfer of objects from one place to another on Yom Tov are dealt with in Chapter 19.

30.a. One is not permitted to go out wearing a garment which spare buttons sewn onto it.
30.b. Contrast the case in paragraph 28 above, where the buttons, while not made to be fastened at all, do serve a function, namely a decorative one.

31.a. One may go out wearing
1) a coat to which a hood is attached, even if the hood is not covering one’s head, but is hanging down from the back of the coat, or
2) a raincoat with a zipper or buttons intended for attaching a lining in cold weather.
