BASIS LA-DAVAR HA-ASSUR

48.a. Some authorities hold that an article supporting a keli she-melachto le-issur does not become muktzeh as a basis la-davar ha-assur at all.

48.b.1) In any case, one certainly cannot apply more stringent restrictions to the basis than to the muktzeh object which it supports

2) One may therefore move the basis in the same way as if it were a keli she-melachto le-issur, that is to say

a) if one needs to use if for a permitted purpose or

b) if one needs to make use of the place which it occupies.
