General Principles of Muktzeh (519)

Chapter 22

General Principles Relating to Muktzeh on Shabbath and Yom Tov

OBJECTS MISTAKENLY THOUGHT TO BE MUKTZEH

20. Wet clothes which became dry before Shabbath commenced may be worn or moved, even if, at the beginning of Shabbath, one mistakenly thought they were still wet.

21. It also follows from paragraph 17 above that one is permitted to move an article which one previously decided not to use or move because one thought it was muktzeh, if, during the course of Shabbath, it becomes apparent that one’s decision was based on a mistaken view of the halacha.
